100 Companies Who Care
At Paradise Galleries, our passion goes beyond just creating dolls. We love seeing the impact our dolls have on our customers; it is much more than just a doll to them. Our dolls provide many people with comfort and joy during difficult times. For many years, we've donated dolls to those who are less fortunate and cannot afford to purchase one. We're always looking for new ways to give back to the community so this past year, we joined an organization called "100 Companies Who Care".
Paradise Galleries is based in Southern California and so is "100 Companies Who Care" so it was a great fit. This non-profit is a group of 100 companies who all donate $1000 a quarter to a different local charity. To choose the charity, 2-3 charities pitch their cause to the 100 companies and together the group votes on which charity should receive the donation. The charity who gets the most votes receives the majority of the money while the runner up charities receive a small portion of it.
Recently, two of our employees (team members from product development and graphic design), went to the most recent meeting for 100 Companies Who Care. While there, they heard from 3 charities who are doing amazing things for their communities. The 3 charities were TACA (helping families affected by Autism), Ecology Center (dedicated to sustainable living) and Families Forward (helping the homeless population). Each charity was worthy of the largest donation but in the end, the group voted for The Ecology Center as the recipient! We look forward to hearing more about 3 other charities at the next meeting in a few months!
