Lisa Gregg

Hello fellow doll lovers, my name is Lisa Gregg and I would like to tell you a bit about myself.

I am all about dolls and have been since I was old enough to hold one. My motto is:

"Never too old to play with dolls." In the world of dolls I have been: a doll collector, doll doctor, seamstress for doll clothes, doll appraiser, reborn artist and now a doll sculptor.

I have a Bachelors degree in social work, have been an at home mom to 3 grown boys/men and am fortunate to say I have had a fantastic husband since 1979. I have lived in Omaha, NE all of my life and love it except for the extreme changes in weather.

Being interested in the arts all my life, I have tried everything from water color painting to stained glass, however, my heart was always with clay and the immense possibilities it offered in a three dimensional way. When I found Pro-sculpt clay, it was possible for me to sculpt with out all the limitations of traditional clay.

I began sculpting dolls in 2006. In 2007 I received my "Master Artist" diploma after successfully completing Jack Johnston's professional doll makers' class. I am a member of the Professional Doll Makers Art Guild, and it is a wonderful place to meet other talented artists and share a common passion.

Amongst various awards for my past sculpts, I was honored to receive my first DOTY award in 2009 which was an absolute thrill.

Dolls are more than something beautiful to look at and more than a play toy, they are part of our history. From every culture throughout time each doll has its own story. Take the time to look and listen to your dolls, you will be amazed at what you can learn.
